Western media manufactured consent for Israel’s killing of Gaza journalists, watchdog finds

A report by the media watchdog group Fair found that major Western media outlets manufactured consent for the killing of Palestinian journalists during the war in Gaza. The study evaluated 15 prominent US and UK publications, concluding they centered the Israeli narrative and repeated unsubstantiated claims that slain journalist Anas al-Sharif was a Hamas member. Fair's analysis asserts that this coverage delegitimized pro-Palestinian sources and failed to contextualize the killings within the larger conflict. The report also highlights that these media outlets amplified the allegations even after organizations like the Committee to Protect Journalists found them to be baseless.
