US taxpayers spent over $33bn on Israel's wars over two years

US taxpayers have spent nearly $34 billion supporting Israel's military actions since October 7, 2023, according to a report from Brown University. This total includes $21.7 billion in direct military assistance and an additional $12 billion for related US military operations in the region, including strikes against the Houthis in Yemen and an attack in Iran. The aid has provided Israel with warplanes, bombs, and missiles for its campaigns in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. The financial cost amounts to approximately $3,400 for every citizen of Israel. This spending comes as public support in the US for sending arms to Israel has reportedly declined.
