US State Department watchdog to review Gaza food aid and global health programmes

The US State Department's independent watchdog is expanding its oversight to include foreign assistance programmes previously managed by the dismantled US Agency for International Development (USAid). The Office of Inspector General will now conduct audits on the department's management of global health initiatives, food aid to Gaza, and military funding for Ukraine. This change follows the Trump administration's "America First" policies, which led to the effective shutdown of USAid and disrupted global humanitarian operations.
