US sanctions six Palestinian aid groups it accuses of ties to Qassam Brigades

The US Treasury has sanctioned six Palestinian aid organizations in Gaza, accusing them of being a "covert support network" for Hamas's military wing, the Qassam Brigades. The sanctioned groups include Waed Society, Al-Nur, Qawafil, Al-Falah, Merciful Hands, and Al-Salameh, which provide services ranging from medical support to prisoner advocacy. According to the Treasury, members of Hamas's internal security forces are assigned to work in some of these charities. The US also alleges that some of the organizations have directly transferred money to the Hamas military wing or completed projects intended to benefit the group.
