US may provide up to $2bn for Israeli tanks: Report

The United States may provide up to $2 billion in military aid for Israel to build a new plant for tanks and armored personnel carriers, according to US army documents. This funding would support Israel's "Armored Vehicle Acceleration Project," which aims to boost production of Merkava tanks and other armored vehicles. The potential financing, revealed in US Army Corps of Engineers presentations, would be in addition to the $3.8 billion in annual aid the US already provides. This comes after the US has already provided over $21 billion in direct military aid to Israel since the October 2023 attacks.
