US, Israel and UAE discussed using Gaza gas to fund reconstruction, sources say

The US, Israel, and the UAE have discussed using profits from Gaza’s offshore gas supplies to help fund the reconstruction of the destroyed enclave. The preliminary talks have included a proposal for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) to take a stake in Gaza’s undeveloped gas fields. Discovered in 2000, the rights to develop the gas are shared between the Palestinian Authority’s sovereign wealth fund and a private construction conglomerate. This idea has resurfaced as a way to monetize Palestinian natural resources for rebuilding, especially as Gulf states have been hesitant to fund reconstruction without a clear political resolution.
