US envoy Witkoff GHF's aid site visit denounced as 'PR stunt'

US envoy Steve Witkoff and Ambassador Mike Huckabee visited an aid site in southern Gaza to help craft a plan for delivering humanitarian aid. The visit was denounced by Palestinians and aid workers as a controlled "PR stunt" that did not reflect the reality of the dire conditions on the ground. Witkoff later met with families of Israeli captives, stating a solution to end the war was very close and that Hamas was prepared to demilitarize. In response, Hamas asserted that resistance and disarmament are a national right that would only be waived upon the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.
