US approves AI chip exports to UAE, as talks progress with Saudi Arabia: Report

The United States has approved the export of billions of dollars in AI chips to the United Arab Emirates and is nearing a similar agreement with Saudi Arabia. Nvidia received a license to export chips to the UAE for a large data center operated by US firm OpenAI, though the deal was delayed over security concerns about the UAE's ties to China. The initial license reportedly excludes direct chip sales to G-42, the UAE's state-owned AI firm run by its spy chief. These technology talks are progressing as the US plans to rely on Gulf states for the reconstruction and security of Gaza following the end of the war.
