Unrwa: Gaza now home to highest number of child amputees worldwide

Gaza has become home to the highest number of child amputees per capita worldwide, according to UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini. An estimated 4,000 children have undergone amputations since the war began. Lazzarini noted that the toll on children extends beyond physical injuries and hunger to include deep and invisible psychological scars. These scars manifest as anxiety, nightmares, aggression, and fear among the children of Gaza.
