UK Lawyers for Israel labelled a ‘major actor’ in repression of Palestine solidarity

A new database by the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC) and Forensic Architecture identifies UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) as a major actor in repressing pro-Palestinian activism in the UK. The research documents 964 verified incidents of institutional action taken against expressions of solidarity with Palestine between 2019 and 2025. UKLFI is reported to repeatedly initiate or escalate actions through complaint letters, legal threats, and public pressure, causing schools, universities, and employers to cancel events or start disciplinary procedures. Researchers state that UKLFI exploits legal frameworks, including the IHRA definition of antisemitism and terror legislation, to intimidate and silence pro-Palestinian expression.
