UK court denies bail for Palestine Action activist to care for ill mother

A judge at the Central Criminal Court in the UK has rejected a bail application for a pro-Palestine activist named Muhammad Umer Khalid. Khalid is the sixth suspect charged in connection with a break-in at RAF Brize Norton, Britain's largest military airbase. The incident involved members of the group Palestine Action entering the base and spray-painting two aircraft, causing an estimated £7m in damages. Khalid faces charges of conspiracy to commit criminal damage and conspiracy to enter a prohibited place and remains in custody awaiting trial.
