UAE removing its military from Bosaso after angry Somalia ends agreement

The United Arab Emirates is rapidly evacuating military personnel and heavy equipment from its base in Bosaso, Somalia. This hurried withdrawal follows Somalia's decision to revoke a military agreement after accusing the UAE of using its territory to help a Yemeni separatist leader escape to Abu Dhabi. The incident has heightened geopolitical tensions between the UAE and its nominal ally, Saudi Arabia, which was seeking the separatist for talks. The Bosaso base had also previously been identified as a covert supply route for the UAE to support Sudan's Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
