UAE firm provided technology for China to upgrade missiles: Report

A UAE-based AI firm, G42, reportedly provided technology to China that was used to enhance the range of its air-to-air missiles. The company, chaired by UAE national security adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed al-Nahyan, allegedly passed the technology to Huawei. According to a report citing US intelligence, this technology was used to upgrade China’s PL-15 and PL-17 missiles, potentially giving them an advantage over US aircraft in a potential conflict. This revelation highlights ongoing US concerns about the UAE's deepening technological and military ties with China, which have previously included a suspected Chinese military project near Abu Dhabi.
