Trump: I will not allow Israel to annex West Bank

US President Donald Trump stated that he will not allow Israel to annex the occupied West Bank. Speaking from the Oval Office, he confirmed this position after being asked if he had made such a promise to Arab leaders at the United Nations. Trump's statement comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed not to allow a Palestinian state. Far-right members of Netanyahu's cabinet have also threatened to annex the West Bank in response to recent recognition of a Palestinian state by some Western countries.
