Top Jerusalem Islamic official calls on West to tell Israel: Don’t mess with Al-Aqsa

A senior Islamic official in Jerusalem has called on Western governments to pressure Israel regarding its closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. For the last five weeks, Israel has imposed a blanket ban on Muslims entering the site, which the official, Mustafa Abu Sway, warns could destabilize the entire region. He highlighted perceived double standards, noting that Western governments quickly condemned Israeli restrictions on Christian worship at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre but have remained silent on the Al-Aqsa closure. The restrictions on the mosque began on the same day Israel and the United States launched a war on Iran.
