Thousands of Kurds rally in Syria ahead of integration

Thousands of Syrian Kurds rallied in the city of Qamishli ahead of the implementation of a new agreement with the Syrian government. The deal will gradually integrate Kurdish military and civilian institutions into the Syrian state, following weeks of territorial concessions by Kurdish forces. Under the agreement, oil fields, the Qamishli airport, and border crossings will be transferred to the government, while fighters from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) will be integrated into new army brigades. The United States, which previously backed the Kurdish forces, stated that the purpose of its alliance with them has largely concluded.
