Thousands of Iraqis volunteer to defend Iran against US attack

Thousands of Iraqis have signed a pledge to defend Iran in the event of a US attack amid escalating tensions. Nearly 5,000 people in Iraq's Diyala province gathered to declare their intent to support Iranian and Iraqi security forces against American intervention. The volunteer effort is coordinated by Iran-backed groups like the Badr Organization, and other militias such as Kataeb Hezbollah have also set up recruiting stations across Iraq. This development occurs as the US imposes new sanctions on Iran and positions aircraft carriers in the region.
