'They need a Nakba': Former Israeli intelligence chief calls Gaza death toll 'necessary'

The former head of Israel's military intelligence, Aharon Haliva, has stated that Palestinians need to face a Nakba "every now and then." According to audio recordings from an Israeli TV program, Haliva called the high death toll in Gaza "necessary" and said it will serve as "a message for future generations." He also reportedly said that "50 Palestinians should die" for every victim of the 7 October attack. Haliva, who resigned for failing to prevent the attack, claimed his comments were not made out of revenge.
