Syrian government and SDF agree ceasefire after heavy fighting in northeast

The Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have agreed to an immediate ceasefire across all fronts after days of clashes in the country's northeast. Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa announced that remaining disputes will be resolved through dialogue and that state institutions will redeploy to eastern provinces. This agreement follows the Syrian army's advance, reclaiming large areas including the al-Omar and Tanak oil fields as Kurdish-led forces withdrew. President Sharaa also met with the US special envoy for Syria to discuss counterterrorism, economic cooperation, and the country's unity.
