Swarms are For Agents, Not Just Drones

Drawing a lesson from the use of mass drone swarms in the Russo-Ukrainian War, the strategic advantage now lies in overwhelming an adversary's decision-making tempo. This concept should be applied by the U.S. government through the deployment of AI agent swarms—specialized software workers that can automate tasks in intelligence, logistics, and cyber operations. Current U.S. government AI initiatives are too focused on basic access to models rather than building the necessary control architecture to manage and deploy these agents effectively. To maintain an operational advantage over competitors, the United States must move beyond simple AI assistants and field an operational corps of AI agents to accelerate its own decision loops.
