Sudan's RSF launches offensive in Blue Nile state

Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary has launched a broad offensive against the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in the Blue Nile state. The RSF, joined by allied SPLA-N fighters, is reportedly advancing toward the state capital, Ad-Damazin, with heavy fighting occurring near an SAF garrison. While the SAF claims to have repelled the attack, there are unverified reports that the offensive was launched from neighboring South Sudan and Ethiopia, which would directly implicate those countries and the RSF's alleged patron, the UAE. This new front is believed to be a strategic move to draw SAF resources away from intense fighting in the Kordofan region.
