Sudan: Satellite images show most el-Fasher civilians likely still trapped

Satellite imagery analysis suggests that most civilians in the recently captured Sudanese city of el-Fasher have not fled, raising fears they are trapped, dead, or in hiding. A report from Yale's Humanitarian Research Lab found no evidence of large-scale displacement, which contrasts with previous events in the region. The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) are reportedly continuing mass killings and abuses after seizing the city, which had been under siege for over 500 days. While the International Organization for Migration reports some 36,000 have fled, this accounts for only a small fraction of the city's estimated 260,000 residents.
