Nearly 65,000 civilians have fled Sudan's Kordofan region over three months due to escalating insecurity from the country's civil war. This displacement is part of a wider conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that has displaced almost 13 million people since April 2023. The RSF, which has been accused of genocide and war crimes, now controls the Darfur region. The United Arab Emirates has been accused of complicity in these atrocities by supplying the RSF with weapons in violation of UN arms embargoes.
