Seventy percent of Britons say UK should boycott Eurovision over Israel's participation

A poll has found that seven in 10 people in Britain support a boycott of the 2026 Eurovision song contest over Israel's participation. The survey also revealed that 82 percent of British people believe Israel should be excluded from the competition entirely. This public opinion contrasts with the BBC's decision to support Israel's inclusion and the European Broadcasting Union's green light for them to compete. Several other countries, including Ireland, Spain, and the Netherlands, have already announced their boycott in response to the conflict in Gaza. Additionally, three-quarters of Britons polled believe that banning Russia from the contest but not Israel is inconsistent.
