Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent a lengthy complaint letter to UAE national security advisor Tahnoon bin Zayed regarding the Emirates' activities in Sudan and Yemen. The letter, which was also shared with the United States, detailed that Saudi Arabia could no longer tolerate the UAE's support for the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan's civil war. It also justified Saudi Arabia's military intervention in Yemen as necessary for national security, reaffirming that Riyadh considers the country its sphere of influence. While outlining these grievances, the letter also proposed mediation and was seen as being written with a US audience in mind.
