Red Cross urges Hamas-Israel deal for aid access

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is calling for an agreement between Israel and Hamas to allow humanitarian access into Gaza. Following remarks from a Hamas official, the ICRC stated it is prepared to bring medicine, food, and family news to hostages. The organization also seeks to scale up the delivery of life-saving aid to civilians facing acute food shortages and to visit Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons. ICRC President Mirjana Spoljaric has been speaking with Israeli President Isaac Herzog to try and secure this access.
