Red Cross: Mass expulsion from Gaza City 'unfeasible and incomprehensible'

The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, warned that the expulsion of Gaza City residents would threaten civilians. Spoljaric stated that a mass evacuation of the city is impossible to conduct safely or with dignity under the current conditions. Such an evacuation would cause a massive population movement that the Gaza Strip cannot absorb due to destroyed infrastructure and extreme shortages of food, water, and medical care. The ICRC president described the Israeli expulsion orders as not only unfeasible but also incomprehensible because they do not ensure safe conditions for the displaced.
