Ras Laffan: How Qatar gas hub attack is hitting Asia and beyond

Iranian missile strikes have caused significant damage to Qatar's Ras Laffan gas hub, a facility responsible for one-fifth of the world's liquefied natural gas (LNG). The attacks have suspended production, wiping out 17 percent of Qatar's LNG export capacity for an estimated three to five years. This disruption has caused natural gas prices to soar in Europe and Asia, costing Qatar an estimated $20 billion in lost annual revenue. The situation is exacerbated by Iran's effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has completely stifled Qatar's primary export route.
