Palestinians in Israel amongst poorest amid increasing poverty rates, report says

A new report from Israel's National Insurance Institute reveals that Palestinian citizens are among the most impacted by worsening poverty rates. In 2024, two million people, including 880,000 children, were living below the poverty line, with 37.6 percent of Palestinian households falling below the minimum threshold. The findings attribute the rising poverty to factors like the war on Gaza and the high cost of living, which have exacerbated existing social inequalities.
