Palestinians flee Gaza City under heavy Israeli bombardment

Palestinian families are streaming out of Gaza City as Israeli forces intensify their assault on the territory's main urban center. People are fleeing by any means possible, with some crammed into pick-up trucks while others, including the elderly and injured, make the journey on foot. This mass movement follows multiple expulsion warnings from the Israeli military ordering residents to head south. However, many feel they have nowhere truly safe to go, as Israel has also repeatedly struck the southern areas they were urged to move to.
