Palestinian doctor Ghassan Abu Sittah wins misconduct case

Prominent Palestinian doctor Ghassan Abu Sittah has won a misconduct case initiated by the UK's General Medical Council after complaints from a pro-Israel activist group. The group, UK Lawyers for Israel, alleged that an article and social media posts by the doctor impaired his fitness to practice medicine. A tribunal dismissed the case, finding no evidence of antisemitism or support for terrorism in the content in question. Abu Sittah, who provided medical care in Gaza during Israel's 2023 assault, stated the complaint was part of a broader "lawfare" strategy intended to silence and intimidate supporters of Palestine.
