Three prisoners linked to the activist group Palestine Action have ended their hunger strike. The decision was made after the British government decided not to award a £2 billion contract to the UK subsidiary of the Israeli arms company, Elbit Systems. Two of the prisoners, Heba Muraisi and Kamran Ahmed, had been on hunger strike for over sixty days, refusing both food and water. Supporters hailed the outcome as a victory, marking the end of what is described as the longest hunger strike in British history.
