Pakistan has reportedly finalized a major arms deal worth over $4 billion to supply military hardware to General Khalifa Haftar's Libyan National Army. The agreement includes the sale of 16 JF-17 fighter jets, which are jointly developed by Pakistan and China, and could significantly alter the military balance in the divided country. The deal was reportedly sealed during a visit by Pakistan's army chief, Asim Munir, to Benghazi. This development comes after Haftar's failed 2019 offensive on Tripoli, which was backed by the UAE and Egypt and repelled with Turkish military support for the UN-recognized government.
