Pakistan's permanent representative to the UN, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, has clarified that his country does not fully support all aspects of the US-proposed peace plan for Gaza. Although Pakistan was one of eight countries that met with President Trump to discuss the plan, no Palestinian representatives were invited. Ahmad stated that the countries used the meeting to push for their own objectives, such as an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian assistance, as they had not seen the plan beforehand. The US proposal envisions a demilitarized Gaza under a transitional committee, but Pakistan's foreign minister has since distanced Islamabad from the plan.
