Opinion: In Gaza, bread is now a treasure and hunger a daily killer

A resident of northern Gaza describes the severe starvation experienced since the start of the war in October 2023. Cut off from aid, the population has faced extreme food shortages, forcing them to bake bread from animal fodder and rancid flour to survive. People have resorted to searching destroyed homes for any remaining canned goods. The war has now continued for more than 665 days, and the hunger crisis persists as a daily reality.
