Norway's wealth fund divests from Caterpillar over human 'rights violations' in Gaza

Norway's sovereign wealth fund, the largest in the world, has divested from American equipment manufacturer Caterpillar Inc. The fund's ethics council stated that Caterpillar's products contribute to serious human rights violations, specifically their use by Israeli authorities for the unlawful destruction of Palestinian property in Gaza. This divestment impacts a $2.4 billion stake in the company. The fund also withdrew from five Israeli banks for their role in financing the construction of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
