New York state sends police chiefs to Israel for 'counterterrorism' training

More than a dozen police officers from New York state are participating in a counterterrorism training trip to Israel. The program, run by Israel’s Ministry for Diaspora Affairs, is meant to teach security tactics and about antisemitism. This training is taking place despite accusations that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and has recently launched unprovoked air strikes in Qatar and Yemen. The initiative has drawn criticism, particularly as US police have been accused of being heavy-handed with pro-Palestine protestors.
