New York City's mayor-elect, Zohran Mamdani, won the election by securing four of the city's five boroughs and building a broad coalition of support. An analysis of the results shows Mamdani overwhelmingly won younger voters, the Black community, and Hispanic residents. His opponent, Andrew Cuomo, carried the white vote and voters over the age of 45, as well as Catholic and Jewish voters. Mamdani's ability to unite these diverse groups helped him become the city's first Muslim mayor and garner over one million votes.
