Netanyahu dismisses IPC report that Gaza is in famine

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed a UN-backed report which found that the Gaza Strip is experiencing a famine. Netanyahu rejected the report from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification Initiative (IPC) as an "outright lie." The IPC stated that famine was affecting 500,000 people in the Gaza governorate, which includes Gaza City. Israel is reportedly ignoring the famine declaration and pressing ahead with its military plans to assault Gaza City.
