Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, reportedly opposed a recent strike in Doha intended to assassinate Hamas leaders. The agency had planned its own ground operation but declined to execute it, with director David Barnea concerned it would rupture the relationship Mossad had built with Qatar. Instead of using Mossad operatives, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dispatched 15 fighter jets for the mission. According to sources, this airstrike ultimately failed to kill the targeted senior Hamas officials.
