More than 100,000 Palestinians likely killed in Gaza, leading German institute says

A study by Germany's Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research estimates that over 100,000 Palestinians have likely been killed in Israel's war on Gaza. This figure is substantially higher than the official death toll of around 70,000 reported by the Palestinian health ministry. The research also found that life expectancy in Gaza fell by as much as 47 percent, equivalent to a loss of over 36 years. While the study did not label the events a genocide, it noted that the demographic pattern of deaths closely resembles those seen in past genocides documented by UN agencies.
