Maersk to resume shipping routes through Red Sea and Suez Canal

Shipping giant Maersk announced it will take steps to resume operations through the Red Sea and Suez Canal as soon as conditions are deemed safe. This decision follows a recent ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, which has calmed the region after a series of attacks by Yemen's Houthis. The Houthis had been targeting ships in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, forcing Maersk and other companies to divert vessels, which caused significant disruptions to global trade and cost Egypt billions in lost revenue. While no firm date has been set, the company is preparing for the resumption of this critical shipping route.
