Macron says French nationals fighting for Israel in Gaza can't be ‘genociders’

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that French-Israeli nationals should never be accused of being perpetrators of genocide in the context of the war in Gaza. He asserted that such an accusation is impossible and represents a reversal of values that should not be accepted. Macron's comments come after French authorities issued warrants for two Franco-Israeli nationals accused of "complicity in genocide" for their role in obstructing humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip. The United Nations special rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, criticized the statement, clarifying that nationality does not preclude investigation and it is up to the courts to determine criminality.
