A recent Gaza ceasefire proposal reportedly includes a 60-day halt in military operations. According to an Egyptian official cited by Reuters, Hamas has agreed to the terms of this potential deal. The period of suspension would involve the exchange of Palestinian prisoners for the release of half of the Israeli captives currently held in Gaza. It is believed that around 20 living captives, all military-aged men, remain in the territory.
