Last Palestine Action-linked hunger striker to launch ‘thirst strike’

A prisoner in the UK linked to the activist group Palestine Action, Muhammad Umer Khalid, is escalating his protest by threatening a thirst strike. Khalid is demanding immediate bail and an end to alleged prison restrictions on his mail and visits, which he is protesting through a hunger strike. He is the last of seven prisoners who began the strike, with others ending their protest after the UK government decided against awarding a contract to an Israeli arms company. Khalid, who suffers from a rare genetic disorder, had previously halted a hunger strike due to his deteriorating health but has since resumed it.
