Last Palestine Action hunger striker ends protest following organ failure

A Palestine Action-affiliated prisoner, Muhammad Umer Khalid, has ended a 17-day hunger and thirst strike after being hospitalized with multiple organ failure. Khalid was protesting his treatment and detention conditions while being held on remand at HMP Wormwood Scrubs. He was the last of eight prisoners linked to the direct action group who had launched a hunger strike over their detention. The protest was paused after a prison governor met most of his demands regarding mail, clothes, and visits.
