Jordan using Israeli data-gathering software to track activists: Citizen Lab
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/jordan-using-israeli-software-track-activists(www.middleeasteye.net)Jordanian authorities are using Israeli-made software from the company Cellebrite to track and extract data from the phones of civil society activists. A report by cybersecurity researchers at Citizen Lab found forensic evidence of Cellebrite's products on devices seized from activists who had been detained or interrogated. This surveillance is being used in criminal prosecutions and is considered a likely violation of international human rights treaties ratified by Jordan. Many of the activists targeted have been detained for showing solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, highlighting a crackdown by Jordan's General Intelligence Department.
