Jailed Tunisian opposition leader Rached Ghannouchi starts hunger strike for Gaza

Imprisoned Tunisian opposition leader Rached Ghannouchi has started a symbolic three-day hunger strike to express solidarity with Gaza. His action is a protest demanding the lifting of the blockade and an end to the conflict and starvation campaign against the Palestinian people. Ghannouchi, leader of the Ennahda party, has been jailed since April 2023 following a power grab by President Kais Saied. He has since received several lengthy prison sentences for charges including plotting against the state.
