Israel's Ben Gvir promotes head of unit involved in executing two Palestinians

Israel's far-right national security minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, has promoted the commander of an undercover unit responsible for the execution of two unarmed Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. The incident, captured on video, shows the two men surrendering with their hands raised before being shot at point-blank range in Jenin. The United Nations described the killings as a potential "summary execution" and Israeli police have reportedly opened an investigation into three officers from the unit. Ben Gvir has also stated his intention to end investigations into the killings of Palestinians, whom he labeled as "terrorists."
