Israeli forces abuse Palestinians returning to Gaza at Rafah checkpoint

Palestinians returning to the Gaza Strip reported being abused by Israeli forces at a newly established checkpoint in Rafah. Witnesses claim they were seized by Israeli-backed armed groups, taken to the army, and then blindfolded, handcuffed, and interrogated for hours. During the interrogations, Israeli troops allegedly used psychological torture, threatened to take their children, and attempted to recruit them as spies. The Rafah crossing, which was occupied by Israel and closed for nearly two years, has only recently reopened with strict restrictions on who is allowed to pass.
